Kickstart?
Hey guys. One of my friends has told me about starting a kickstart campaign. Though, I think it's a good idea, I don't know much about it. I'll have to do some research, and I definitely will.
The success of my first book is on the cusp and I can just taste it. It's a long process, I know and an exciting one. But, I wonder just how long until it's finally out there, hitting the bookshelves and making its' presence known. Very exciting stuff.
Over the past few days, I haven't been feeling like myself, so I haven't been writing much. But, it's Christmas Day and it's been such a good one. I'm finally feeling better and up to writing more. I'm expanding on one of my new story avenues, and I really like how it's coming out. Also, I got a new printer for Christmas, so I will be able to print off one copy of my first book ... and hold it in my hands! So amazing! My little office is expanding, and now I think it's complete. I have my laptop, of which I could not live or do my work without, my iPad for FaceTime while I work, but mostly to keep me entertained with tv shows and movies. Bluetooth speaker to accompany the iPad, daily planner, idea book, and now my printer. Yes. Yay.
As I get more and more comfortable in my little writing space, the quality of work enriches, and the more the inspiration comes. I used to think sadness was my muse. Turns out, that's just one aspect of it. Being comfortable in my own writing space really is key to keep production flowing. Still amazed that my first book is done.
Something else I'm considering is entering writing contests. I wouldn't enter any of my trilogy material, but some of my other short stories. There are prizes involved, and if I could win a few of these, that would definitely help with my funding the trilogy.
I have a lot to think about in the next few days ... or, weeks. I will also be returning to work full time next week. I got a gig with the legislature for the next five months. I don't know how it's going to affect my creative flow, but I am intended on keeping my writing at full time status, too. Here's hoping all goes well ...
