Newsletter

I'm still up and decided to work on the next newsletter. It will be update #8.

Thinking about what I should include in this one. Probably a little about the story, and revealing another character. Also, how the editing process is going. There's been a little drama there. I've had a lot of positive support, and people want to help me, but life takes hold and they aren't able to do what I ask. It isn't much, but I understand if they are too busy. It's not like I'm paying them.

But, I have two ladies that are helping me out, and I am so grateful for them. They work fast, and I'm even having a hard time keeping up with them. Haha!

Anyway, a little about the "drama" of which, I do not need. But, here goes ...

So, since I've started the writing process for the first book, it was quick I might add, and I had a few chapters written. I had a thought to ask a few of my literary friends to read them and give me some feedback. I just wanted to know if I had something good, and if it caught their interest. One of them, bless her, is a very avid reader and was super excited to participate in helping me to edit and pitch ideas.

At first, I was grateful for the help, but her suggestions started to overwhelm me. So, I just continued to write, and before I knew it I had a novel-sized book on my hands. Skip ahead two months, and she was one of the ladies I gave a chapter to for editing. I was clear to all my ladies that I needed quick turn around on this because I'm trying to get it to the publisher in a timely manner. Anyway, long story short, she started giving me attitude and trying to make me feel guilty about not paying her to edit. So, in defiance to me, she says she's going to take her sweet time editing the chapter and get it to me when she feels it's ready.

I said that's fine. And, as this conversation was happening, I sent her chapter to one of my other girls, and she edited the chapter and got it back to me in less than an hour. How funny is that?

Anyhoo ... I'm going to change the subject ... In my last post, I started to talk about the setting. Here, I have pictures of what I imagine the palace and the grounds to look like.

Since it's set in more modern times, I envision the palace to look more modernized. Not really a fan of all the pointy towers, I like things more squared off.

So, that's it for now. I'm going to get back to work on the next newsletter. If you're interested in my weekly updates, just leave me your email in the comments, and I'll add you to the list.

Until next time ... Stay tuned <3
