A ways to go ...
Hey readers! I'm doing a little assessment of the second book and how much work needs to be done on it. Although, I've come pretty far on it, there's a lot more to be done.
My ideas keep coming, and I am grateful for them, but as far as linking all the parts I've been writing, there's so much to do! This story will be quite different than the first one. At least, that's the way it's shaping up to be. I think it's a good thing, though.
My aim for book two was for it to be shorter than the first. About 200 - 250 pages. But, it's shaping up to be longer. It's a relief for me since I really didn't know how this next book was going to go ... at least I didn't know in the very beginning. Getting a pretty good idea about it now.
And, my friend just reminded me that this book is going to take longer to come out because I am back to work full time. Sigh.
He's right. Loyal was written with pure concentration. I had little in the ways of distraction while writing the first book. But, for the second book, it will take longer since I have to split my concentration between a 40 hour work week and my writing. Though, I'm finding that I like this new job that I've taken on for the next five months. The first week went well ... I did get some writing done almost everyday when I got home from work. I used my time well. When preparing dinner, I had my laptop out in the kitchen and wrote when I had time in between letting dinner simmer, and actually eating. I also had my laptop out when I was just sitting around watching tv. It wasn't at all like the writing time I was fortunate to devote to Loyal, but it's to be expected since that time is now cut pretty much in half. Yeah.
So, here I am today. It's Sunday, and after a morning of errands, and breakfast after picking up my daughter, I rested, watched a movie and then got down to business. I'm concentrating on two chapters at the moment. Going in between them as the ideas come. And, of course, blogging. Hah!
Enough of the shenanigans ... I need to get back to writing. And, the watching of the YouTube.
Until the next post ... <3
