Trying to be around more ...
Hey readers! As you can see, I am trying to post more than I have been. I want to keep this blog going for information on my books. What's to come and what I'm working on, too. As far as my books go ...
My professional cards came for me as a novelist. They're a little hard to read though, so I'm going to have them redone. Oh well.
I've been working on the chancellor's story in the second book. In the first one, you're introduced to the chancellor and you get to see him develop a little as the story goes on. In my second book, the chancellor's real role appears and his story is a lot bigger than I had first imagined. So big, that it's taking more time to write. I've done extensive research in regards to the chancellor and his background, but putting the whole thing down on paper is proving to be a challenge. Coming up with certain aspects of the story is taking time. That's only because I want to make sure it all makes sense to the reader, as well as the story.
In this scene that I am going to share with you, the chancellor has just met with Rikard, Kalleum's brother. I won't give you all the whole scene, but just enough to quench your thirst. So far, this is what I have written:

Back in his hotel room, the Chancellor contemplates all that he’s told Rikard. Yes, I am able to take the throne, he thinks to himself, as if doubt were starting to take over in his mind. No, I will do this! It is my destiny to rule over Idrris once and for all! A sneer of a smile appears across his face as two servants enter his suite.
“Pack this all up. Now! I want to leave this dreadful place. Hmff! Brrokael … a province in ruin is what I call it!” He snuffs, then watches them as they move about his room in a hurry. “I will go down to the restaurant and have my dinner. I want to be ready to leave as soon as I come back.” He informs the servants, and they nod as he leaves them.
A few days have gone by since he met with Rikard. He’s taken a few meetings with people of significance in Barrindar, Arrtesh. But, he’s also traveled far to Brrokael to meet with his benefactor. As he walks down to the restaurant, that meeting is the one that remains on his mind. Try as he might, the stance of his benefactor haunts him, and he shudders at the memory of this, for he can be a very scary man to deal with, the Chancellor thinks to himself.
“All I have to do is make sure his checks go through … and provide him with a detailed report every other week. Shouldn’t be so bad … since he’s unwilling to leave his country, I shouldn’t need to fear his reach.” The Chancellor tells himself. “His reach, however, can be far … I must take heed.”
So, the Chancellor eats his meal in peace, alone. Not wanting to be disturbed, he looks to his guards who are not far from him. They stand vigil, ready to take down any disturbance to the Chancellor. For them, he is grateful, and turns back to his meal and his mind to more pleasant thoughts. The take over … it’s going to be so spectacular. When I am in charge … yes! He thinks.

I have more written, I just didn't want to write a whole novel on my post. Haha! I'll be back again with more story on the chancellor as I am writing it!
Until the next time,
