It's been a while ...

Hey readers! I am back with another post re my books, Love, and the Realm. I know, it's been a while since I last posted, but I am here to talk about the process I've been going through with my first book, Loyal.

Yes, Loyal has been the subject of attention lately. I've been approached by a lot of agents and specialists for marketing and selling my book. Great, right? Well, I got swept away with one company. They're name is Booktimes. Let me tell you, it's a scam! It's so hard to tell who's real and who's fake. Anyway, I've been communicating with two of their agents, and they have Indian accents which are very strong. I can tell that one of them tries really hard to hide it, but it comes out every now and then. The other is ridiculously strong, and it's hard to understand her sometimes. I asked where they're company is based, and Nathalie told me that they are in Indiana.

Indiana, my ass! I was approached by another agent, and he's with a company that seems reputable. He somehow got me talking about the agency I was with, and he and his team did research as to who they were and what they were doing with the money that authors were giving them. He showed me that they don't publish the books that are on their website. And, they aren't BBB regulated. That was a red light right there! AND, they aren't based in the US ... they're in INDIA!!

I'm confused and I feel stupid for falling for the lies that Nathalie has told me. She said they would market my book to Traditional publishers. And, THAT's what I want! To be working with a big name publisher is the dream.

But, I'm afraid that will have to wait. I'm approaching the end of book 2, Tempted. Now, I'll need to start looking for another publisher, but who do I go with? Xlibris wasn't all that great. So, I don't think I'll be going back to them. Also, I'm actively searching for a literary agent to represent me to Traditional Publishers.

If they honestly like my book, and see the potential, they shouldn't ask ME for money. I am the talent! My book is what is selling to the big guys. True literary agents see that, and they will recognize my talent. It's just so frustrating. This really is a hard career path that I have chosen.

Fuck.

Anyway, glad you're all still reading ... are you? Well, I hope some of you check back every now and then. I'm here.

Til the next one,

<3

One more thing,

Happy 90th Birthday, Grandma. Love and miss you, always.
